How It Works 1. Contaminated air containing acid fumes or toxic gases enters the scrubber through the inlet. 2. A scrubbing liquid (water or a chemical neutralizing solution) is sprayed from the top of the scrubber. 3. The exhaust gas passes through the packed bed media, creating maximum contact between the gas and the scrubbing liquid. 4. Harmful gases are absorbed and chemically neutralized by the scrubbing solution. 5. A mist eliminator (demister) removes entrained water droplets from the cleaned air. 6. The clean, treated air is safely discharged through the exhaust stack, while the scrubbing liquid is collected and recirculated for continuous operation.
